The Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA) was established on the
4th of January 1993 as an independent, non-governmental think-
tank, which provides rigorous analysis and perspectives on economic
policy issues of Ghana and the developing world.
CEPA has a mandate to promote a non-partisan informed debate
on key policy issues on the economy of Ghana with emphasis on
macroeconomics growth and poverty alleviation issues.
Specifically our research deals with fiscal and monetary policy;
debt management, trade policy; industrial policy; the social
sectors, agricultural policy and to propose feasible policy
alternatives in these areas. The Centre holds seminars and workshops
to share its findings with Ghanaian, African and international
institutions and organisations
CEPA's vision is to be a high standard international, independent
think tank. CEPA aspires to be a repository and a source of
sound credible data, a definitive authority on economic policy
issues affecting Ghana, the ECOWAS sub-region and Africa.
Poverty reduction and wealth creation are the ultimate goals
of most developing countries and Ghana is no exception to these
developmental objectives. CEPA's mission is to facilitate and
promote open and pro-active discussions on key related issues
which will impact positively on poverty reduction. The Centre
achieves this by engaging policy-makers, decision makers, implementers,
academics, business people, CSOs, fellows and other professionals
in debate and discussion on policy issues. To this end, the
Centre provides a forum for the articulation of key public issues,
the formulation of realistic solutions and the provision of
alternative policy choices to policy makers to address problems
of the poor.
a.. To provide alternative
policy options to policy makers and other
stakeholders through rigorous research and policy analysis.
b. To enhance the capacities
of other institutions in Ghana through
training, networking and internship.
c To disseminate and publish
economic information in order to raise
public awareness of economic and development issues.
d To consolidate the
institutional base of CEPA in order to enhance its
performance.
